Acoustic Cafe

June 29, 2023

Acoustic Café returns to the Harris Arts Center on June  29, 2023, at 7p.m.

Acoustic Café began in 2019, and was inspired by the Bluebird Café in Nashville. Patrons are offered the opportunity to hear local and regional talent in a relaxed setting. Cover charge for this event is $5 at the door and a cash bar with beer, wine and snacks will be available. Audience members are encouraged to tip the entertainment.

June performers include Adam Klein, Brandon Bagley, Hunter Blalock and Lo Down.

Adam Klein is an Atlanta-via-Athens, Georgia singer/songwriter and troubadour whose literate folk-rock and Americana-styled songwriting and active years of touring have earned accolades from Americana and folk press, multiple albums on the Euro Americana chart, and shared stages with a long list of revered songwriters and bands including James McMurtry, Josh Ritter, Steep Canyon Rangers, Shovels & Rope, Abigail Washburn & the Sparrow Quartet featuring Bela Fleck, Larkin Poe, and more. Klein’s latest release, Holidays in United States, is a socio-political record on the state of American society culminating in the Woody Guthrie-esque hymn to the promise of America, “Bright Rails Shine”.

Brandon Bagley is a new singer/songwriter here in Calhoun. He’s been playing and singing his whole life, but he only recently decided to start writing his own songs! Brandon likes to write folk-pop songs about dealing with complex emotions, getting inspiration from artists like The Beatles, Lizzy McAlpine, Coldplay and Ed Sheeran. This will be Brandon’s first songwriter show and he’s excited to present his work for you all!

Hunter Blalock is an American songwriter from the hills of North-West Georgia. Hunter never fears uncomfortable subjects while writing songs & presents his real uncensored view of the world & himself. Hunter’s writing style is something all his own as he blends styles of Country, Folk, & Bluegrass to create a sound that places him in the genre of Americana. His influences range from Tyler Childers, Jason Isbell, & American Aquarium to The Band, Townes Van Zant, & Many more.

Lo Down LoDown is a local songwriting and performing duo that includes Lainey Richardson (guitar, vocals) and Diana Bishop (vocals). Their unique sound blends bluegrass, rock, and country music. Diana’s soulful tone and Lainey’s bright harmonies pair beautifully with Lainey’s guitar style, which merges rhythm and lead. Lainey and Diana are both prolific and gifted songwriters, and their original songs are in high demand when they perform at festivals and popular venues in the North Georgia area and in Nashville, where Lainey attends Belmont University.

Cover charge for this event is $5 at the door and a cash bar with beer, wine and snacks will be available. Performance begins at 7p.m. Audience members are encouraged to tip the entertainment.
